How to fine-tune your pre-lander for nutra to increase CR and ROI: tips from the current media buying

Today we tell you how a successful media buying team in the nutra vertical refines its pre-landing in order to increase CR and ROI. So, let's imagine a situation where we have a pre-landing, on which we have already sent traffic for some time, and the conversion of pre-landing. In this case, we can make changes to our pre-landing in order to raise the CR and, accordingly, increase the ROI.

Changing the visual

The very first thing that needs to be changed is the visual (if you have a celebrity / frames from a TV show planned on the flyer, then we select the visual according to future content).

Title change

The second step is to change the title, because the title is the first thing the user sees when they get to our website. On most pre-landing, the titles do not change for years, so I recommend rewriting them.

 

Our task is to intrigue/hook the user with the help of the title, so that he stays on the pre-landing and starts reading the text of the pre-landing.

 

I will not describe the marketing rules for writing headlines here, because this can be easily googled and read on some third-party resource, or you can simply turn to ChatGPT and ask it to generate a bunch of new headers for you.
 

Updating all characters on the pre-landing/ adding selebs

At this stage, we should replace the photos of the main characters from the pre-landing, because if the pre-landing is old, then most likely users have already seen the photos of these heroes from your pre-lander. We can replace the photos of heroes with other non-named heroes, but if we add local celebs instead of unknown people, then this can greatly increase your conversion (I call this the "celeb effect").

 

What we can do:

 

  • Instead of an anonymous correspondent, add a locally known interviewer / TV presenter;
  • Instead of an unknown doctor, add a locally popular doctor;
  • Instead of the main character (for example, on weight loss), add a local star who has lost weight (actress / singer / TV presenter / blogger), etc.

 

I also want to note that the conversion can change depending on the size of the celebrity in a particular geo. We did a lot of tests and found that the more popular the celebrity, the higher the conversion. On one small geo, our ROI ranged from 50% to 300% depending on which celebrity we placed on pre-landing (it was found that ordinary TV news anchors convert worse than some popular interviewer in this geo).

 

But I must warn that some CPA-networks may stop your traffic due to the presence of celebs or due to complaints from celebs.

 

How to find a popular doctor:

 

  • Method 1. Search Google for the top list of doctors in the geo you need. Enter the name of each doctor on YouTube and see how often this doctor appears in some TV shows. Additionally, you can analyze their social networks (FB / Inst / Twitter) for the number of subscribers, but doctors do not often have developed social networks.
  • Method 2. In Google, write the query "The most popular doctors in Mexico", go to Google images, there, among the pictures, look at the photos and select the most frequently repeated faces. Punch the found doctors through social networks (FB/Inst/Twitter/YouTube) and select the most popular ones.

 

How to find a popular TV presenter:

 

  • Method 1. Search Google for popular anchors (examples of queries: "The most popular TV presenters in Mexico", "The most influential journalists in Mexico", etc.). You write out a list of the names you found, Google these names individually, study what this character is famous for, what shows he hosts, and be sure to analyze their social media. networks (FB/Inst/Twitter/YouTube) by the number of subscribers.
  • Method 2. In Google, find a list of top TV channels in the geo you need. Find the official channels of these TV channels on YouTube. Browse the found YouTube channels and analyze videos by the number of views or by the frequency of flashing of a particular character in the videos. Find the characters from the videos individually in Google, study them and analyze their social networks.

 

How to find a popular celebrity by newsworthy (someone lost weight / recovered from diabetes / got married / divorced / transformed, etc.): go to Google news (https://news.google.com/home), we drive in the query we need ("Mexican actress lost weight" / "Mexican singer lost weight" / "Mexican celebrity cured of diabetes", etc.), sort the Google results by date (we need the most recent newsbreaks), open links from the search results, read articles and select celebs suitable for us.

 

For celebrities, I advise you to make a sign in which you will enter the names of the found celebrities / doctors / TV presenters + you can also write a short description there and insert links to their social networks. Table example below.

The next step is to change the image in the header of the pre-landing. The first screen of our prelander - this is one of the first elements that the user sees when they get to us on page. In the pre-landing header, you can duplicate our title or write a subtitle that is related in meaning to the title. If a celeb is used on the veneer, then it is advisable to place it in a hat. Updating other pre-landing images + adding hardcore photos to scare and motivate the user to place an order faster

Usually this item refers to the consequences of diseases. For example, if we pour on diabetes or parasites, then we can insert hard photos of the consequences of the disease so that the user is motivated to recover from his illness faster.

Pre-landing text edits

After celebs or new characters have been added to the pre-landing page, it is necessary to check the text of the pre-landing for the compliance of the characters with the text and, where necessary, make changes.

 

You can also add some additional paragraphs with text to enhance certain pre-landing blocks. You can do it yourself, or order text from a copywriter, or generate text via ChatGPT.

Working with reviews

Reviews are very important in a pre-landing, because. they should close the objections that users have. Most of the reviews are old and many users have already read them several times. Reviews should not be too laudatory. In reviews, you need to create an imitation of communication between users or with a doctor.

 

You can write reviews yourself or order from a copywriter, or try to generate them via ChatGPT, or you can go to the marketplace, find a product of a similar theme there and rewrite reviews from there with subsequent translation.

 

In addition to the text in the reviews, there must be live photos of the product so that the user can see that the product really exists and is actually delivered to customers. Also, for some topics (weight loss, rejuvenation, etc.), you must add Before/After photos to the reviews, indicating the effectiveness of your offer.

 

Also pay attention to the names and photos of people who leave reviews on your pre-landing. It is necessary that the names and photos correspond to the geo where you are sending traffic (it would be strange to drive to some Nigeria, where there will be white people with German names in the reviews commenting on your product).
 

Comparison tables

Adding a comparison table to your pre-landing is another good way to make your product stand out from other treatments for a particular disease, and thereby increase the CR of your pre-landing.

Imitation of communication in pre-landing

Most prelander templates have very few images, many of which look like stock images. Try to imitate the communication between the characters in the  pre-landing to make it look believable. It is better to take photos for pre-landing  from YouTube videos, they will look more natural. Screenshot example below.

Some forms may show a good conversion but a bad approval. Therefore, it is advisable to split the forms in order to choose the one that will give you the highest ROI.

The final step is to optimize your great landing page for opening speed. In many countries, there is a problem of slow Internet, because of which you can lose some traffic.
